Most people want to avoid calling a pest control service if they have to. Believe it or not, there are some home remedies that you can try first.

Pour some coffee grounds in the affected area if you have an ant problem.
Mix some water and hot pepper flakes in a spray bottle to keep bugs from destroying your green garden.
Put some apple cider vinegar in a spray bottle to get rid of pesky fruit flies.
Cockroaches hate cucumber slices and garlic so use them as deterrents.
Peppermint, rosemary and lavender are all extremely helpful when it comes to mosquitoes or flies.
